Irish Cottage Window Mug

Description

Fine bone china mug printed with a beautiful hand drawn Irish Cottage Window and shamrock design. Sealed with Irish Love shamrock logo on back stamp.

The hand drawn illustration is of an old Irish cottage window. There were usually only two to three windows at the front of old Irish cottages due to the dreaded ‘window tax’ from 1799 – 1851. Thick walls meant deep window recesses for flower displays were common. This illustration has a gorgeous old cast iron kettle and plant sitting on the sill.
